the Club President ...

Ladies and Gentlemen:

Hi, I am Peter Nguyen, President of Toa Payoh Central CC Toastmasters Club.

First of all, I would like to thank immediate past president, mentors and all of members for their vote of confidence in me. I have been in this club for more than 3 years, but I am still consider myself as young toastmaster because we all know that our club has been chartered for 12 years. Toa Payoh Central CC Toastmasters Club was formed in April 1998 with the name Sky Media Toastmasters Club. The club has grown rapidly from just a few members in the beginning to almost 60 members up to now. For the last 3 years, I find that we have made a lot of changes and also face many challenges to maintain the existing members, attract more new members as well as make the club always refreshing and energetic. We do have some difficulties along the way but in any situation, we always keep the Toa Payoh Central club’s spirit , the club’s culture that had helped us to grow from success to success. Every year, without failed, we achieve President Distinguished Club status.

Hence I realize that the work for the coming year is going to be increasingly challenging. As a club president, i understand that i need to be a servant leader, I need to work hard and commit to make things happen. However, I feel so confident because I am not alone, I will work with a very capable, committed and helpful team, and of course, with all of your guidance and support.

In this term, we will focus on the following things:

• Club Program Goals – As usual, we strive to achieve the President’s Distinguished Club
• Improve the quality of chapter meeting so that everybody can learn the most from the toastmaster journey.
• Improve members' relationship to continue the Toa Payoh Central CC Club spirit and make our club to be the second home for all members.
• Groom more members to the division and district contests.

With detailed planning, consistent effort and effective contribution from the entire team, again I am confident to say that Toa Payoh Central CC Toastmasters Club will continue to grow and bring more benefits to all members. 

This year, we adopt the motto from Toastmaster International District 80 : “Toastmasters - Achieving Greatness Together”. Fellow toastmasters, let's work together and achievie the greatness.
